i think it's a girl becaushe has a different uniform top, and in the distance you can see someone wearing similarly coloured clothing and a skirt. MAYBE THEY JUST HAVE KILTS????

It might cause lawlessness and anarchy, but were I a middle school principle, I couldn't imagine ever being willing to call in the guardians of an unruly child when said guardians are also deadly ninjas.

It might be a girly boy, but I'm pretty sure it's actually a girl. Look at panel 6 - ponytail is wearing a shirt tucked into something plaid. The boys' uniforms have tan pants. I imagine that ponytail is wearing a plaid skirt. Unless it's a dude in a kilt, that seems to indicate it's a girl.
