January Discussion Thread

Remember when your parents told you your dog got sent to a farm? This is that farm, except it's full of old monthly discussion threads.

Those poor security guards. If they can take a ninja, I'll eat my keyboard.

Oh, hey, it is January, isn't it? Nicely done Walkdogger.

Doc already punched an astronaut, despite knowing they are protected. Considering how Doc has treated security guards in the past, these sad saps are unlikely to last long.

I think he's hiding behind his desk, waiting for the nasaghasts to finish their hunt.

I was thinking that was the guy from TV that had promoted the book, not someone working at NASA.

I was wondering why the hell Hastings did a Ghost Trick comic considering the game came out six months ago. Then I realized that was only in Japan, and the game hasn't actually been released yet in North America. Then it made more sense.

I completely forgot about what happened to that guard. Doc can be quite brutal, huh?

Though he might be more gentle with these guards. After all, he does try.

...double post?

I've gotta say I like the comic when it's more condensed and events occur more frequently. As a casualty, some details get left out and that implicit nature of the storytelling fosters more discussion on our little board here. Then there's more latitude as the story-teller to flip assumptions on their heads with twists because those details were omitted.

Space Savers is 59 pages and the arc feels about two-thirds complete. Looking in the archive shows Army of One is 89 pages, but the pacing of Space Savers is a little... off? I think the time-travel speculation we had spurred some excitement, and then that intensity tapered off.

I don't know, am I just speaking for myself here?

@steneub I think Hastings is trying to draw out the artwork with less actiony panels per page so that the amount of work for him is less each day. It wasn't as bad before when Kent did half the drawing work, but now Doc H has to spend twice as much time on each panel/page and so he's slowing the pace down.
