It's not you, trust me. GIMP is... well, gimped.

We had a saying about it at the B&G Forums. It's 6 times harder to use than photoshop, and only half as flexible.

Paint.NET is what I use instead of GIMP. It's not as powerful, but it's waaaay easier to use.
